yesterday i got the best gift for my birthday; it was from Katelyn, the sweetest girl i know. she is such a great friend and she shares her love for God with me. i'm so blessed to have her in my life.
anyways, during our softball season, we were going down to Chico for a game on the bus when she pulled out a journal full of all her bible verses. this was when i realized how truly dedicated and loving she was with the Lord. and i told her that i wanted a journal like that too, because i was at the point where i was reconnecting with God and i figured that was a great way to start.
and so she got me one for my birthday! i can't believe she remembered, but i'm so thankful! she even wrote me a note on the first page and a verse that reminded her of me. (: oh, and she also included a starbucks gift card! ;p
so today i started writing and recording in my journal. i've included this verse:

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment...
instead it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."
1 peter 3:3,4

now it's one of my new prized possessions.
